Recertification

Recertification is necessary only after you have completed the full certification process and are a Certified ALACE birth professional.

Each year when you renew your ALACE membership, if you are fully certified we also ask you to recertify. We feel that recertification benefits you and your clients as it encourages you to keep up on new information and gain skills or improve the ones you have; we also feel that requiring this of ALACE birth professionals helps to legitimize the professions of labor support and childbirth education in the birth world as a whole.

Please note: when you first become certified, if your ALACE membership expires within the following 9 months, you do not have to submit recertification requirements when you renew your membership.

If you are having difficulty finding or attending a class or workshop, please call the ALACE office and speak with the Membership Coordinator (info@alace.org) so we can help you come up with a solution.
