What you’ll learn at an ALACE workshop

As an ALACE doula, you’ll learn to:

• Help pregnant women and their families decide what’s important to them during labor, and work with the birth team to realize these goals
• Provide practical suggestions to help pregnant women relax during labor including touch, massage, and emotional support
• Act as an advocate for birthing women within a team of care providers
• Support the family when medical interventions are indicated
• Offer follow-up support in the postpartum period
